The 22-year-old joins from Whitby Town, where he has played 19 times in the tier above this season.
Comfortable at left-back or in midfield, Hackett came through the ranks of Sunderland and made his senior debut in the EFL Trophy against Morecambe.
After a loan spell with The Seasiders, Hackett permanently moved to Whitby in August 2021 and has made 76 appearances in total.
“We’ve known about him for a couple of years,” said manager Daniel Moore.
“He was at Sunderland so has a good background and a good appetite.
“He played all of last season in the league above and has a desire to get more minutes so this move suits all parties.”
Hackett could make his debut on Saturday away to Bridlington Town in the Pitching In Northern Premier League East Division.
