The 2-0 win against Bishop Auckland was a welcome one in the Hornets' camp after opening with four straight defeats. An own goal in the first half and a late strike from Olly Martin, his second in as many games was enough to see off 'Two Blues.'

Heaton Stannington head to Hebburn Sports Ground on Friday evening having emerged victorious in the same fixture just under a year ago, eliminating the Hornets from the FA Cup in the process.

Their planned Tuesday night game was postponed after opponents Percy Main pulled out and they were last in action last Friday when they played out a goalless draw with Whitley Bay at Hillheads.

Hebburn Manager Daniel Moore said ahead of Friday's fixture, "we've got to look after the players because we've not got a big squad. We'll have a look how they're feeling, but after tonight every player should be chomping at the bit."

Moore continued, "we've got two games left before the season starts and we're playing a play off team from last year first game of the season and you can't get much tougher really, so the lads have got to be on it, look after themselves away from football and commit to the next ten months."
