Gildo, Urwin, Maher and Inglis register for senior side.

Following our recent news that Tyler Brownsword, Max Campbell and Alfa Djalo have been registered for the first team squad, we are now pleased to announce a further four players that are making the same step, with Cam Inglis, Aidan Maher, Harry Urwin and Gildo Da Silva signing their registration forms.

Inglis, 19 was recently announced as the Reserves captain ahead of the 24/25 season, having also skippered the side regularly last term. The centre back won the Manager's Player of the Season award following the conclusion of the last campaign.

Fellow defender Maher, 18, who can also play in midfield scooped two trophies that same evening - winning the Players' Player of the Season and the Young Player of the Season awards.

Centre midfielder Urwin is just 17 years old and made his debut for the Reserves last August against West Moor and Jesmond, having made the step up from the Under 18 setup.

Gildo, an exciting Portuguese talent who can play off the left hand side or as a centre forward has only recently turned 16 and has been part of the Under 18 side. He will continue his footballing journey as a regular for the Reserves whilst being available for first team action.

Club CEO Stephen Rutherford said of the quartets' registration, "we’re pleased to register these upcoming lads in addition to the lads that we registered earlier in the week. The club and management are really keen on driving our pathway opportunity and making it a success over the coming years."

Rutherford continued, "we are focusing more than we ever have in this development pathway area, something that’s not been top of our priory list recently and I’m sure we’ll be better for it. First Team Coach Ian Whitcombe is managing the process moving forward and will liaise with relevant coaches and players as part of their development. It’s a great move all round and also is the building block to our first academy cohort starting in September 2024.”
