PREVIEW | Stocksbridge Park Steels (A)

PREVIEW | Stocksbridge Park Steels (A)

Josh Youll4 Feb 2022 - 13:00

Hebburn Town travel to Stocksbridge Park Steels on Saturday, February 5 (3pm KO).

THE LOWDOWN

The Hornets have enjoyed a great run of form as of late, picking up four victories from a possible five.

Only league leaders Liversedge proved too difficult for Kevin Bolam's side, but a 3-0 victory last weekend saw Hebburn bounce back clinically.

The injury-ravaged Bridlington Town couldn't stop Olly Martin from netting his first goals of 2022, while Bolam also handed Jack Donaghy and Carl Taylor their first appearances of the New Year.

Stocksbridge sit one place below Hebburn in the Pitching In Northern Premier League East Divison, having experienced a slight turn in results.

Winning one in their last five, a last-minute winner against Worksop Town, Steels fell victim to Marske United last week.

Ian Richards' outfit went into the break on level terms following Ross Goodwin's strike, however Junior Mondal fired Marske to three points.

Stocksbridge were handed a blow midweek as ever-present 'keeper Ed Hall moved to Ossett United, however Steels have pulled off the late loan addition of Michael Roxburgh.

PRE-MATCH THOUGHTS

"The focus in every single game is to win," stated assistant Mick Mulhern.

"We'll go there and have a go - they gave us a good defeat so the team talk is pretty much done.

"At home, they'll expect to beat us due to what happened at our place.

"We'll travel full of confidence - we're on a good little run and we're doing well."

LAST MEETING

The Hornets suffered a brutal loss against Stocksbridge in November on home soil.

Josh Nodder broke the deadlock early, before Luke Mangham and Ross Goodwin claimed braces past debutant Kieran Hunter.

Amar Purewal forced an own goal after the hour, which only proved as a consolation to Steels' five.
