The Isuzu FA Trophy – First Round Qualifying

The Lowdown
Hebburn enter the Isuzu FA Trophy at the First Round Qualifying stage with a trip to West Yorkshire to take on Brighouse Town on Saturday.

Daniel Moore's side have already been eliminated from this season's FA Cup, and with the club not able to compete in the Durham Challenge Cup, this competition is the only remaining knockout tournament of the campaign.

The Hornets started their Pitching In Northern Premier League East Division fixtures with five wins on the bounce, before a first defeat at home to Liversedge last time out, however remain top of the table.

Brighouse currently sit in 9th place in the same division, having won two, drew two and lost one of their opening five fixtures. In those games they have scored 14 goals and conceded 12.

Head-to-Head
Hebburn secured a league double over Brighouse last season. The first meeting at Brighouse seen Bobby Pointon give the home side the lead just after the hour mark, but late goals from Sean Reid, Liam Murray and Olly Martin secured an away victory.

In the return fixture in January, Joshua Dacre's first half own goal was enough for another three points, despite Wayne Phillips' late red card. Martin was also shown red after the final whistle.

Pre-Match Thoughts
Hebburn Manager Daniel Moore commented "It's a very tough place to go. It's a competition we want to do well in, and I know they've revamped their side and they've started really well, so it'll be a really tough game."

On potential team changes, the gaffer remarked "Jack is going to be out and is probably going to require another operation by the looks of it. Will, I don't know. I think we get Chay back now, so there's one coming in, Joe should be alright for next Saturday. We're still going to be a bit thin, but this is where these young lads that have done pre-season with us come in and back up the squad."

Venue Info
The game will take place at The Heffernan Utilities Stadium, HD6 2PL. Tickets are available on the gate, with entrance costing £10 for adults, £7 for concessions, £2 for U16s, whilst U12s go free.
