Gibson becomes the manager of our first ever senior female side ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

He was the manager of Hebburn Involve Ladies last year and his squad has transitioned to Hebburn Town Women for the new season.

Involve finished third in Durham FA League Two under Gibson, achieving promotion to League One.

Chris Elliott will be Gibson's assistant manager, while Natasha Heley will also support the squad.

“I'm very happy to be here," said Gibson.

"It's a project the club have looked at for a while so to have it all done and dusted now is great.

"We've got a good group of players coming over from Involve - there's 18 in total and we're hopeful of adding to that.

"Last season went really well and we want to gain again promotion this year - it'll be a challenge but we're keen to get up the pyramid."

Pre-season gets underway for Hebburn Town Women this Sunday away to Darlington Spraire Ladies.
