A goal from substitute Olly Martin sealed the FA Vase for Hebburn Town with a 3-2 win against fellow Northern League side Consett.
Consett were in front twice in the first half through Ali Alshabeeb and Dale Pearson, but equalisers from Amar Purewal and Michael Richardson had the sides level at the break.
Martin was the hero when he came off the bench and scored with six minutes to go.
Consett started the game well and came close eleven minutes in when Darren Holden’s left footed shot was curled round the post and went wide.
Hebburn came incredibly close however seven minutes later when Robbie Spence’s well-drilled shot was saved and Richardson struck the crossbar on the rebound.
The Steelmen hit the Hornets on the break and took the lead when Alshabeeb rounded Mark Foden and slotted into the top corner.
However, Kevin Bolam’s side responded just minutes later when Michael McKeown sent an excellent through ball to Purewal who slotted in the bottom-right corner to send the bench wild.
After a long break because of an injury, Calvin Smith came close for Consett with his shot going just over in the 38th minute.
Terry Mitchell’s side took the lead again shortly before the break, with Louis Storey failing to intercept a cross and Pearson burying the ball home from close range.
Hebburn equalised just before the end of normal time when Storey’s shot on the left was saved and on the rebound Darren Lough squared it to Richardson who tapped home from close range.
It was a fairly even start to the second half, but Hebburn had the first chance in the 56th minute when Purewal won the ball on the right and his cross met Armstrong who tapped just wide.
The Hornets had the ball in the back of the net in the 80th minute when Tom Potter tapped home but it was ruled out offside.
Consett had a golden opportunity in the 82nd minute when Alshabeeb found space on the left and played it to Luke Carr but he could only fire wide.
Kevin Bolam’s side however took the lead two minutes later when Richardson squared it to Martin and he buried the ball home to send the Hebburn side wild.
